Losing a pet is horrible it's very much like losing a family member and the best way to make it less sad is to remember the all the happy memories you have of them. this can be difficult though because our heads are wired to remember the strongest emotions and sad things are often easier to remember.
However in the case of Kelpy this is not so. As my mother often says "Kelpy is Happiness!" and she's right.
In the many photos above is our wonderful if wacky Old English Sheepdog often known as Fuzz, Elbow Licker, Kelpster, Fuzzy Sofa and Wooky and Angel (This was Dad's nickname for Kelpy i'm lucky if he gets my name right on the 3rd try)

We got Kelps as one of my mothers many mad spur of the moment ideas, this one worked out a lot better than many of her others which i wont mention as she reads this blog (Love You Mum!) when i was 9, i remember picking her with my family and taking the tiny puppy home for the first time. on arival however our lovely old dog Maxi pretended that she didn't exist for three days before deciding that he was going to be a puppy again at the age of 12 which led to him playing puppy games with her that on one occasion caused her to get stuck on his back as her little legs couldn't reach the floor on either side of him.
She was never far from the kitchen when i was baking and was possably the only dog to eat a shrew (which are poisonus) without showing any apparnt side effects (witnessing this was extremely gross, she sucked up the tail spagetti style).
During my 13 years with Kelpy she proved time and time again to be a brilliant part of or family (i remember liking her more than my little sister a lot of the time). As a child my siblings and myself would go out cycling and the dog would come with us so that she could 'herd' our bicycles by nipping at the tyres and one Christmas she ate a bright red tree decoration and we woke up to a day-glow pink dog.
But her most important campaign was her ever pressent aim to undermine our hedge, she spent years digging trenches underneath it which doubled as treasure troves for stolen toys and bones and interesting sticks. she works with the dilligence of a demented mole.
The main trench is still there despite being filled in several times over the years and it'll remain there as a Kelpy hole for ever, or at least until the hedge falls over...
We've had a few pets over the years but Kelpy was much deffinatly one of the most memorable
If you have any funny pet stories i'd love to hear them. i'll be posting up some of the best ones at a later date.
