Well another week has gone past and it's time for another rant. This will be a really short rant as I’m currently smitted with a particularly nasty cold :( and I feel like my heads being trampled by ten tiny pink elephants who are learning to tap dance and not doing a good job!
So other than the cold, what's really getting me down this week is application forms, The whole arty thing is still on going but the simple fact is I need the cash and possibly some reason to actually get dressed (I’m getting too attached to my fuzzy pajama bottoms). I'm hoping if you have ever sat for more than a few hours looking at the tedium of application forms then you too will know that feeling of your brains slowly melting into a pile of useless puss, it's not a pleasant feeling!
Yesterday I was filling in one for a company and you would not believe the number of deeply personal questions they had on their health questionnaire, you’d think I was applying for a top-secret position with some mythical organisation! Another form, for a company offering slave wages, was full of ridiculously inane questions and designed for someone with the reading level of a 4 year old (I got as far as filling in my name before giving up and turning it into a scrunched up missile) and don't even get me started on the ones that expect you to answer what is effectively the same question about 6 times and then provide a CV despite having already asked you to provide all the information in the application.
Surely there has to be a better and less maddening way of applying for jobs? Have you got any interesting experiences with job seeking? Please share them!
Rant over guys, have a good week!
